About Us
The story of Dan Wright and how Wright Trailers got started.
In 1963 Dan started selling used speed equipment in Lincoln RI. This eventually led him to open up "Wright's Mini Mart" in 1970. He was located in the City of Attleboro MA. Mini bikes were a hit! 3 years later he found himself opening an Arco gas station. Dan started towing and junking automobiles and this is where he built his first 16' trailer.
Finally, in 1977 he begins to build trailers and truck bodies in his garage behind our home in South Attleboro. That didn't sit well with the neighbors so in 1980 he starts a business called Satellite Equipment in Mansfield MA. He build his first gooseneck trailer in 1981. BY the time 1982 rolls around he is now buying ready made trailers and selling them as a dealer.
Things start moving fast and Dan transitions into a large barn behind our home in Rehoboth. Its 1983 we start selling Dexter Axles. That following year we Incorporate as Wright Trailers and build our first steel metal building in Seekonk MA. By the time 85 rolls around Dan has sold the building and moved into the old Rotondo Precast building on Rte 6.
Never sitting still, 1990 rolls around Wright Trailers has moved 2 more times and we add snow and ice equipment to our offerings. Dan's son Steve comes on board in 1993 and he starts building trailers under his father's direction. 1996 Steve is building all Wright Trailers in a separate building on Pond St. in Seekonk. Wright Trailers goes online and computerizes their business.
January 16, 1997 Dan signs papers for the existing building we are in and the rest is history.
